How can you deal with culture shock? First,you need to real-ize that every newcomer suffers some culture shock.You're not the only case. Second,remember that culture shock is curable. The process of recovery will start as you begin to make the adjustment to the new culture. Of course,learning the language will help re-movie the obsracles to communication and will ease the job of making friends with people.Recognizing and learning the new cul-tural rules of behavior,however,may be just as important.You'll still have emotional reactions to unfamiliar situations,but you'll find yourself making jokes about them rather than condemning the entire society as"stupid"The jokes are good sign:they show that you are recovering.

I'm so excited when I got Mariah's signature on Friday! I was waiting for her about 2 hours outside the Empire state building. At the beginning, When she walked in the building.I missed chance to get the signature.About 4:00PM,She was walking out the building then I shook my hand and gave her paper and pen.We were looking at each other about 3 seconds then she wrote down her nickname big 'MC' for me. I said:'Thank you so much!' At the same time, She got in the car. She said:' Thank you!' bye bye! It was unforgettable time in my life! Thank you so much Mariah Carey!  Culture shock is caused ,therefore,by a lack of familiarity whith the system of rules that the new society uses for everyday living. Language is an obvious example of one type of these rules If your level of linguistic knowledge is low, even the simplest task can suddenly become immensely difficult for you and cause you to feel inadequate.However,Knowledge of the language does not make you immune to the effects of culture shock,as many Britons in the United statues and many Americans in Britain will confirm.Most people are unware that each culture has its own rules for social behavior ;they take it for granted that polite,civilized people behave the same way in all cultures.This mistaken belief will cause you to behave and to judge the behavior of others according to the rules you automatically learned as a member of your own culture.If the rules are different ,then people will misinterpret you behavior, and you will misinterpret theirs.

If you ever find yourself behaving in ways similar to these,you are probably suffering from culture shock.Culture shock is a Psychological condition that sometimes has physical effects.It affects people who have moved away from an environment where they know how to live into a new enviroment where much is unfamiliar to them-the food ,the weather,the language,and especially the unwritten rules for social behavior that few people are consciously a ware of.

You feel generally depressed and unable to concertrate.Your pattern of daily activity may change: you find yourself awake and active in the middle of the night ;you sleep late into the day,when most others are working.You stay in you room and have little contact with people except with those who speak your language. In your mind,you criticize the people around you -they are rude, loud,unfriendly,uninformed,concerned with insignificant things,even stupid;you complain about them to any friends you have. You become frustrated when you can't go into a restaurant and order the type of food you really like;you get angry when the TV news contains mostly U.S. news and very little about events that are important to you. You are constantly making comparisons between life here and the perfect life back home.Above all,you are homesick almost all the time.

I bought a soda on Parsons blvd. I saw the brand is 'Key food' My friend told me:' If you want to lose weight. You must be drink zero soda.I don't believe her. Because I think all the sodas are not good for healthy. I suggest that no soda you will be healthy.

Today is overcast day with heavy snow. I never seen heavy snow in Beijing. But It is normal in NYC. In Manhattan when the passed the rush hours. Midtown become a silent place.If I were a snowman. I was waiting for sunshine in central park. Fourth seasons have different views in central park. I'm waiting for spring!

Many American people likes Chinese food. When I asked them all the same question:'Do you like Chinese food'? They said of course! But sometimes It is salty.I usually try to find a good restaurant in China town and Flushing Main street.But I can't find it Because many things are different. For example ,Onions with chicken that is very famous Chinese food 宫保鸡丁.Can you guess?Can you believe?Too different !!!!!!! I want to eat real Chinese food. But in NYC. It is terrible! I usually to buy some korea food. It is so so.I like real Chinese food since I was born.

I love Bronx and Harlem. Althought Manhattan is popular for everyone.But If you like hip-hop music then you like Bronx and Harlem.When I first came to NYC I heard news about subway .That was bad news. So I can't stand subway and dirty platforms.I take by bus everyday.One day, I heard music from on radio. It was hip-hop music! I loved it since I opened the radio. At the same time I know a bit Africa American's culture.Hip-hop music bring me wonderful experience. Such as make me freedom and treachery It was fantastic and unbelieve.Africa American people are very friendly all the time. I enjoy talking with them. Africa American's culture is great! I hope all the world's people are friendly to Africa American people! They loves NYC and World's people.I love NYC subway and dirty platforms! Because NYC is carzy! That it is wonderful!
